Your Free Domain

Every website you create gets a free subdomain:

yoursite.astraldigital.pro

This is perfect for getting started quickly. Your site is live instantly with this address.

Connecting Your Own Domain

With a paid plan, you can connect your own domain name. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Get a Domain

If you don't already have one, purchase a domain from a registrar like:

• Namecheap
• GoDaddy
• Google Domains
• Cloudflare

Tip: Choose a domain that matches your business name or includes your service + location (e.g., smithplumbingaustin.com).

Step 2: Add Domain in Settings

1. Go to your site dashboard
2. Click Settings
3. Select the Domain tab
4. Enter your domain name (e.g., mybusiness.com)
5. Click Save

Step 3: Configure DNS

You'll need to add a DNS record at your domain registrar. Add an A record:

If you want www.mybusiness.com to also work, add:

Step 4: Wait for SSL

Once DNS is configured:

• SSL certificate is automatically provisioned
• This takes 5-30 minutes
• Your site will show "https://" with the secure padlock

DNS Propagation

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide, though most complete within 1-2 hours. During this time:

• Your old subdomain continues working
• Some visitors may see the new domain before others
• This is normal - just wait it out

Troubleshooting

"Domain not configured" error

1. Check that the A record is correct: 76.76.21.21
2. Wait at least 30 minutes after making DNS changes
3. Use a tool like whatsmydns.net to check propagation

SSL certificate pending

SSL certificates are issued automatically. If it's been more than an hour:

1. Verify your DNS settings are correct
2. Check that no other DNS records conflict (like an existing A record)
3. Contact support if issues persist

www not working

Make sure you added the CNAME record for www:

• Type: CNAME
• Name: www
• Value: cname.vercel-dns.com

Multiple Domains

You can only connect one custom domain per site. If you own multiple domains:

• Point additional domains to your primary domain using redirects at your registrar
• Or create separate sites for each domain

Changing Domains

To switch to a different custom domain:

1. Go to Site Settings > Domain
2. Update the domain name
3. Configure DNS for the new domain
4. Remove old DNS records (optional but recommended)

Your old subdomain (yoursite.astraldigital.pro) continues to work as a backup.

Domain Tips for Service Businesses

Good domain choices:

• yourbusinessname.com
• servicetypeCity.com (e.g., plumbingaustin.com)
• nameservices.com (e.g., smithplumbing.com)

Domains to avoid:

• Very long domains (hard to remember)
• Hyphens if possible (looks less professional)
• Numbers that could be confused (is it 1, one, or won?)
